Saturday, January 18 - At Sea
It wasn't raining this morning, but it was really windy on the walking track on Deck 12 so Barbara and I decided to cancel walking and perhaps try again some other time. Perhaps ... It is interesting how many steps I get just walking around the ship, so I don't feel so bad.
Terry Bishop's lecture this morning was "Brazil and Slavery", a heavier topic than his usual, but still very interesting. I didn't realize that 35% of the slaves from Western Africa went to Brazil. And there were millions of Africans taken from the east side of Africa to India and Arab countries.

| The Observation Lounge on Deck 12 aft where Trivia is held. |
We had only 12/15 in Trivia, but that got us 1 point for 3rd place. There was a little party for those of us who have "top tier status" with Regent. Sounds sort of lad-di-da to me, but it's nice to recognize the regulars, I guess. They gave the Diamond status pin to a couple who have 1,000 nights with Regent!!
After that we went to Mariner Lounge for a cocktail (we arrived too late for one at the party) and talked with Rick and Luann from Pennsylvania. They used to live in Alexandria so they knew where Haymarket is.
We had dinner for two again with Sugi as our waiter. He's very honest about what is the best on the menu, and what he wouldn't recommend that evening, which I really appreciate.
We both went to hear Lisa Marie Holmes again, but Michael didn't make it past the first song because of the volume. I think she's worth it, so I stayed for the whole show. It sounds like she will be doing a show with her partner (not husband) Josh who did the Queen show a few days ago. That should be a good one.
