This morning on the pool deck we heard what sounded like a cricket again! We heard them on the Voyager and saw them on the Oceania Sirena. When we ran into CD Andrew later we mentioned it and he confirmed that he's heard it too. We accused him of bringing his pet cricket everywhere he goes.
This is another tender port, but the seas were pretty calm, so it wasn't a bad transfer. Our tour was a 2-hour Highlights tour. Buzios is famous for its beaches and two of the tours included visits to 3 different swim spots from a boat. We elected to see a bit more of the area. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst tours we've been on. Buzios is beautiful, but I can't report much about it because our tour guide was not good at all. The smallish bus (about 24 passengers) didn't have a microphone and we couldn't hear anything she said due to the blowing of the AC system. She tried to speak loudly, but it just didn't work.
The first thing we noticed when we got off the tender was the strong smell of sewage. Our guide led us on foot several blocks to meet the bus and the smell was everywhere. The streets are about 90% cobblestone and I just kept thinking about all the manual labor involved in putting them in. Slavery ended in 1888 so it probably wasn't slave labor. We did think that this was the prettiest city we've seen so far. There is a vibrant downtown near the tender pier with many nice stores and restaurants. And as we traveled around we saw very nice neighborhoods with beautiful houses. There was very little litter and no graffiti, although some homes or developments had razor wire on the walls.

| At one of our stops, there were restroom facilities and even the men had to wait in line! |
 |
| These little jeep-like things were all over the place, |
 |
| One of the 17 beaches in the area |
 |
| One of the little snack shops at the beach. |
 |
| Finally, some more familiar electrical poles. |
After the tour, we stopped for a beer at a restaurant where we could see the beach and the ship. It was the only place in town where there wasn't an odor of sewage.
 |
| The two beers were $5. |

| Brigitte Bardot spent vacation time here with her Brazilian boyfriend which put the place on the map. There are shops and restaurants all over named Bardot and this statue of her, of course. |
Back on board, Trivia was not a good day with only 11/15 so no points for us, but lots of laughs so we're still winners. We had dinner for 2 at Compass Rose and went back to the cabin for an early night.
