Wednesday, January 15 - At Sea

Bill Lee gave a lecture titled "Hollywood Science Fact/Fiction/Fantasy" in which he talked about some of his favorite movies and how much was fact.  He thought Back to the Future was pretty accurate and he has a love/hate relationship with Gravity.  He also talked about a lot of movies that I've never heard of including some of these:

Then Terry Bishop's lecture "The History of the Atlantic Ocean" was another fun-filled talk.  You wouldn't think he could make this topic interesting, but he manages to do so.

At the noon Captain's update he said that the patient who had been airlifted off the ship had a procedure last night and is doing very well and expected to recover fully.  Good to hear.

Since it's another sea day I have a few photos of the ship to share.

Coffee Connection on Deck 6 that we usually visit each morning before breakfast.

A look up through the atrium from Deck 5.

I don't know if I mentioned that clicking on the photos should open them up in full screen for more detail.  And thank you to those who are leaving comments.  I can't reply directly to them, but I appreciate knowing that someone besides me is looking at this. 😊

At trivia, Roger's wife, Inka, joined for the first time.  As I mentioned, she has hearing problems so isn't really comfortable in large crowds.  However, she brought us luck because we finally were in the top 3 with 12/15 so we got 1 point.

We had dinner at Seti Mare tonight because they had veal chop parmigiana on the menu and I had read that it was very good, but a very large portion.  We ordered one to share and it was just enough. Actually, I gave some of my "half" to Michael as it was really too much.  But it was delicious, my new favorite menu item there, and we'll go again during this cruise.

No show for us tonight.  We have an early day tomorrow and the show is a comedian which can really be hit or miss.

  1. Is Nino ( I think it’s his name or nickname) from the Navigator who was promoted to Restaurant manager to the Mariner there? I may remember this all wrong. Also orange suitcase lady and hubby with long ponytail on the ship? Sarah

  2. I am really enjoying your blog! I’m all caught up now and looking forward to the next port. You are missing very cold weather and snow, so enjoy the heat!
