Sunday, February 2 - At Sea
The days are getting a bit longer as we head south and since we keep the curtains open at night, the sun has been getting us up between 6 and 6:30 am, which is actually fine with us since we're more morning people.
We had a morning lecture by one of the onboard naturalists, Dr. Liz Slooten, about the Biology of Whales & Dolphins. We should see several types on this journey and she and her colleagues have seen some already. Alas, no luck for us. I keep trying though.
Often when Sunday falls on a sea day, Compass Rose is turned into a beautiful brunch buffet from 10:30 - 1, so we had an early, light breakfast upstairs so as not to miss it. They do a wonderful job.

| The crepes they are making in the background were wonderful with your choice of fillings. This tower of donut holes with the spun sugar looks like a troll doll. 😆 |
We have some shipboard credits to use, so I got a haircut after lunch while Michael took a nap. All 5 of us at Trivia for 13/15 which got us 2 points. Not bad.
There was a special lecture time of 6 pm for "Antarctica, a Frozen Continent" by Bryan Storey. Hopefully we'll get to see some of the things he spoke about.
We had dinner again at Sugi's station in Compass Rose. There are some very interesting people on board. The two tables near us were prime examples. Immediately next to us, the woman sat down and proceeded to pull out her "kids", which were little plastic penguins and other animals which she had named after some of the crew. She set them up on a special little paper in the middle of the table. And at the next table over from them, the couple had a phone propped up and watched a movie throughout their dinner.

| You can just see the little plastic animals on the table through the wine glasses. And the couple behind seem very interested in the show. I guess the view out the window wasn't as interesting. |
We were able to join the weekly sibling Zoom again. Love the internet, except that for some reason my phone will often get disconnected from the wifi once we're in the cabin. Not all the time, but enough to be annoying. Small problem.
Tomorrow is scheduled to be the Falklands. Fingers and toes crossed that the weather is favorable because it's a tender port.

That is funny about the table menagerie and movie watching at dinner😂 Thanks for your awesome posts. Enjoy the Falklands! Georgina Cruz
